Information regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Updated 24th July 2020.

While our business has been temporarily impacted, we have solid plans in place to weather the storm. Although we do not usually receive any external funding, the government support we have received will ensure we can continue to operate until it is safe for our tours to recommence.  We have the capacity to get through this period of uncertainty and we will be ready to return to schools and libraries as soon as it is safe to do so.

We are focussed on providing programs that celebrate literacy and student wellbeing.

In our opinion, exposing young people to live performance is critical. Not only are our children part of a technology-based culture, they will probably come through this period feeling isolated.  Our wellbeing programs and the sheer delight of seeing a live theatre performance has the ability to create lifelong memories for children and adults alike.

As we navigate our way through this uncertain time, we appreciate and thank you for your support. We will be back!

 

Covid Plan is now available – please get in touch to request a copy

Please rest assured we will do everything we can to ensure the safety of our team and the school communities we visit.  Utilising State Government advice from the ACT, QLD, NSW & VIC governments we have developed a Covid Safe Plan which provides guidance for our employees with regard to hygiene management, Physical Distancing and safe conduct in schools.  We will continually assess our plan to ensure it remains in line with the guidelines at the time.

Steps we’re implementing include:

  • Employees are required to complete a health questionnaire and temperature check at the start of each working day
  • Sanitisation of all props and equipment after every performance
  • Wearing masks and gloves when setting up and packing up the show.

 

What have we been doing during the lockdown?

Our office staff are on hand to respond to any queries via phone or email.  Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions or concerns.

We have taken the opportunity to review our Teacher Resources which support our in-school live performances which will provide even more value to our incursions in the future.

We are also continuing with development of our Book Week adaptations.  We have secured the performance rights to the CBCA shortlisted books we’d like to adapt, and details can be found on our Book Week page.

 

Future bookings

We understand this is an uncertain time and nobody knows what the year will bring. We want to advise our clients that we will waive any cancellation fees should we not be able to visit your school due to Covid-19 restrictions.

 

Our Term 2 2020 performances have rescheduled to Term 3

We have contacted all kindergartens, schools and libraries with performances scheduled for Term 2 2020 and rescheduled them to the latter part of Term 3.

Teachers & librarians have been really understanding of our situation and have been keen to reschedule.  Many have told us that our programs are now more important than ever before.

Our Term 3 2020 Book Week performances have rescheduled to Term 4

Following the decision by CBCA to reschedule Book Week to October we have contacted all kindergartens, schools and libraries with performances scheduled for Term 3 2020 and rescheduled them to Term 4.

Book Week performances to be made available virtually

As often happens in times of crisis, we have been given the opportunity to innovate.   For the first time, to make our incursions more accessible, this year we’re offering an online version of our Book Week adaptations.

While we already travel to some of the most remote areas of the east coast this means we can now reach the entire country!  This option provides a more viable option for regional, remote and small schools where the cost of our live in-school performances may be prohibitive.

It will also provide an alternative for schools with an existing booking if restrictions remain in place during Term 4.

2021 Season

We are in the process of planning our 2021 Season and season dates have been added to our booking form.  It would be fantastic for our business to know there is a pipeline of worked lined up for next year so, if you’re thinking of having a performance in 2021, please get in touch soon so we can include you in that planning.
